Books to Read Summer 2015

I have started my summer since April or May, i don't even remember but I haven't really read a book and I miss doing it. The past years I would totally finish a lot of books during the summer but i guess this time around i'm more into watching series... But I want to start back at it because I also have accumulated some books that I wanted to read but didn't finish... here's a list that maybe you might get interested in.

1. Rebels: City of Indra by Kendall and Kylie Jenner

I specifically got this book just because I'm a fan of them! It was sold out everywhere when I wanted to buy it so I had to make reservations for me to have a copy of it.I've read a few pages before and all I can remember is that it'
s set in a different world where 2 girls are living opposite lives.

2.Girl Online by Zoe Sugg

This book I got way back in February during our trip to London and I haven't made a huge progress since... I'll admit that I only got this book because I was a huge fan of Zoe but this time I just want to commit to reading and finishing my list!

3. Grey by E.L. James

This book is a must read, sadly I only knew about this recently and I don't want to spend 499php on it so I just decided to have a free audiobook at Audibles! so excited for this because the story is told from Christian's point of view just like my next book to show!

4. Four by Veronica Roth

The first 3 books I finished reading in just a week and I'm very excited for the fourth book! I hope I can see more of Four here and on how he thinks and feels.

5. The Death Cure by James Dashner

I promised myself to read this after the movie of The Scorch Trials came out and it's about to in a few months so I probably have to get started soon. I want to read ahead the movie just so I can understand even the minute details of the story when I watch it in movies just like what I did on the first book as well as the second.

Easiest way to clean your Pandora at home!

We all love our Pandoras may it be our charms or rings, but we must face the fact that they are not real legit silver so they do turn "rusty" but don't worry they don't feel rusty. This problem has an easy solution just because they offer lifetime free cleaning for all our Pandora charms and necklaces. You can drop it off at 11-2pm so you can just wait for an hour or so until you can pick it up and it will look like brand new again! But we don't have all the time to go to the mall and have them cleaned, so I found this way from my cousin that you just have to use a toothbrush and a toothpaste and just brush all the dirt away! As soon as i learned about this I tried it right away and it worked really well!

Below are pictures of my own Pandora:

This is how they look like after a few days... they look "rusty"

This is how they look like after brushing with toothpaste! I hope you can see the difference specially with the Unicorn charm's body.

Hope this helps! :)

Fashion Student Essentials PH version

Some of you may know that I'm studying at a fashion school in the country and I just want to share these basic tools you will surely need as you enter basic sewing classes! I had some problems with some as I didn't have a clue what they looked like in the first place and also some of the terms your professor might tell you wouldn't be the term Tabora or Divisoria uses.

  1. Portable Sewing Machine, I say portable instead of the industrial one just because you will need to bring it to school every class and it might be imposible if you have an industrial one. plus the school will provide that.
I have the Brother Pasteria one and it might not be the finest but it gets the simple jobs done.

2. Fitting Form, The sizes you need might vary from different professors but most likely it will be the small one. You can get the best quality in terms of body sizing from Mannequin Incorporated at 2000Php (with stand)

3. Rulers, these are very important in pattern making and to buy the right ones. I got mine at Tabora in Divisoria at Eversons. You will probably need the Grid Ruler, French Curve, L square and a Curved Stick with the brand "Kearing" It will also costs you around 2000++Php

4. Styling Tape, this is for having a guide on your fitting form. It's actually just 1/8 inch ribbons that you can find at craft stores and has a lot of different colors.

5. Measuring Tape, all of you will probably know what this is.
6. Threads and Needles, buy a cone of the black and white thread because you know you need it A LOT.

7. Scissors, you will also need 2 kinds of scissors, one for fabrics and the other for paper just because you can't mix the 2.

8. Pattern Paper/ Brown Paper, I get mine in rolls and at 4 ft tall so that I would't be buying them all the time. You can buy this at Overseas Paper also near Tabora. It's only for 120Php a roll.

9. Transfer Paper, you will need this to transfer your pattern to the fabric, and it is washable so you wouldn't have to worry it won't come off later.it's about 85Php at Tabora of course!

10. Thread Cutter and Seam Ripper, they are almost alike and you can probably use both with the same purpose if you want. The Seam Ripper is VERY helpful.

Thread Cutter                                                   Seam Ripper

11. Tracing Wheel, you will also need this in pattern making and I recommend buying the ones with wooden handles just because the plastic ones break easily.

12. Pins, for keeping fabrics in place. You can buy the ones with heads or without.

13.Zipper footers, in case the Industrial Machines you have in school doesn't have one. You will basically just need regular zipper footers (left and right) also Invisible zipper footers.

14.Markers, these are for your fashion illustration classes. You can choose from Copic Markers (the best ones 250Php each locally), Triad Markers, or the Pro markers (conveniently available at fully booked at 99Php each) Avoid Kure Colors just because they are too bright unless you want your designs to be neon all the time.

I know these may be a lot and also costs a lot of money, but if you really want this course it will all be very helpful for you even in the future! Goodluck! and I hope this helps!
