I haven't really tried anything yet except for the Barry M. in Blueberry and so far so good. so I hope it's the same for all of the nailpolishes I've purchased. I'm expecting a lot from the American Apparel in "white hologram" but I see it as quite too opaque so I might need to find a tutorial on how to apply it the best on my nails.

Let me know what you think about the nailpolishes that I've purchased or tell me what I should've bought instead!

Hope you enjoyed!

Let's go with Pastel.

Valentine's Day is coming up and I'm sure everyone has plans to go out because it falls on a weekend and that means no work/ classes! It's a special event that's celebrated not only for couples but for friends as well. You don't need a partner just to celebrate because it's just a day spent to celebrate love, and this time instead of wearing red (and you'll be a floating head from all the red decorations everywhere) or heart prints, I'm going for pastel colors. All my friends know how much I love pastel because it's the color I go for in times of uncertainty. The colors of this family are usually described as "soothing", "soft", "near neutral", "milky", "washed out", "desaturated", lacking strong chromatic content.

I've also made a set of pastels you could wear to a nice lunch/dinner out.

Hope you enjoyed!

Plaid?

Plaid is also something you can't go wrong with. Be it nerds or the coolest people in town, everybody  wears them. There are different types of what people would just refer to as "plaids", and I'll be going through them today just to clarify everything for everyone. It's something I learned in school and it's kind of confusing at first but eventually you'll get around it.

1. Plaids/ Tartans.
-is a pattern consisting of criss-crossed horizontal and vertical bands in multiple colours.

2. Gingham
- has no right or wrong side with respect to colour.

3. Checkered
- is a pattern of modified stripes consisting of crossed horizontal and vertical lines forming squares.

4. Window pane
-it's formed by two perpendicular pinstripes.

Finally here's something I put together that embodies at least 3 of the types of patterns that's said above. :) hope you enjoyed!

Lednail Gel Polish.

I've known about gel polishes for quite a while now but only a week ago was I able to buy a UV light which is very crucial in getting gel nails. I got mine at a Japan Surplus which I was so excited about because it might be a little dusty at first but, just wiped it with alcohol and it looked like brand new. I also think it was brand new from the start just because the sticker thing at the bottom of where you place your nails is still there so that's a plus. The lady also said that I should plug it with only 100 V but then I read the box and the plug that it's 100-240V and so I just plugged it directly and it still worked fine. The UV lamp that I got is the Diamond CCFL UV lamp in white (picture below) and it retails for $62.40 at Aliexpress (around Php 2700) that's a lot of money! and I only got mine for around Php500.

Other things you need to achieve the gel polish:
  • Buffer
  • UV Light
  • Gel Polish
  • Top Coat
  • Base Coat
  • Acetone
  • Cotton Balls

I don't have the base coat just yet because the store didn't have it in the same brand as my top coat and gel polish. The top coat and gel polish were 200 each and the primer costs 300. (got them all at 168 Shopping Mall)

Simple Procedure:
  • Buff your nails and push the cuticles inward.
  • Apply the primer and wait for it to dry.
  • Apply first coat of gel polish (leave for 3 min under UV light)
  • Apply second coat of gel polish (leave for 3 min under UV light)
  • Apply third coat of gel polish (leave for 3 min under UV light)
  • Apply Top coat (leave for 5 min under UV light)
  • Apply another layer of Top coat (leave for 5 min under UV light)
  • Use a cotton with acetone and just swipe it across each nail and you now have a smooth, shiny gel polish!!

The gel polish that I chose is a Tiffany Blue shade and I just love pastels. I love the overall effect it gives me, the shine, texture, thickness and hopefully the amount of time it will need to start chipping off. I'm planning to buy more colors in the future, hopefully my mom would help me buy them because they're a little more expensive than the ordinary kind. btw, my polishes aren't the best ones there. They have the 500+ per bottle and I'm eyeing for those next time because the lady said they lasts much longer. :)

Hope you learned something!
